Those of you who know me well know that I have two loves in my life:
There is something about rushing down the side of a mountain, on the edge of control, that makes me feel happy, free and complete.
October marks the month in which my two passions combine.
The time when ski brands release their collections for the upcoming season.
Now I may prefer to have two planks attached to my feet rather than one, but that doesn't mean I don't lust after snowboarding apparel.
There's something about the relaxed, laid-back aesthetic of the pieces that makes them more exciting than ski specific outerwear.
This year I was doubly excited as Burton once again teamed up with L.A.M.B (Gwen Stefani's fashion label) to produce an awesome line of women's wear.
The grungy, punk rock inspired style of L.A.M.B perfectly translates into snowboard clothing.
Clashing prints of leopard and tartan are combined with subtle creams, pale blues and khaki greens, whilst newspaper style type fills in the gaps - all adding to the 80s, British punk theme of the collection.
My student bank balance means I can't quite justify buying a new jacket, so instead I have to content myself with online 'window' shopping.
(And for the guys? Why don't you check out Burtons outerwear range for men - there are some really cool pieces. Camouflage onesie anyone?)
For now the countdown has started. 70 days till I'm heading to Jackson Hole in search of some pow.
After all, life's better with a ski pass.
See you on the slopes.
