Welcome to Blogget, this is where I share snapshots of my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Six On The Slopes

To celebrate our 18th Tabitha and I invited 4 friends to Chamonix for a weeks skiing over New Year. And what an amazing week it was!!

Thankfully by the time we reached the Alps there was enough snow to ski on and we even had a couple of powder days.

On the first day one of the main chair lifts was shut. Rather than be defeated we decided to walk up a piste. I was feeling very smug that my skis could be fastened to my rucksack - it made the uphill walk a hell of a lot easier!

Once we reached the top it looked as though we were skiing on top of the world. The Chamonix valley was completely hidden from view by the cloud with Mont Blanc making an impressive backdrop.

The plans for New Year's Eve were changed last minute due to Connie spending the whole day in bed with a chest infection. So instead of going out in Chamonix we went ice skating in Vallorcine,  messed around with some bonkers sunglasses and then built a snowman.

Say Bonjour to Pingu...

Back in September, when we were planning the trip, we all decided that a great way to celebrate New Year's Day would be to ski in sports-bras. I don't think we had factored in quite how cold it would be. But despite the minus temperatures we went ahead with the plan.

So if you happened to be in Argentiere on the 1st January and saw a group of idiots in fluorescent bras that was us!

If we were going to do it we had to it properly so obviously we skied down the busiest slope in the resort which goes under 3 major lifts! We got some wolf-whistles from people on the chairlifts and when we stopped to have photos we were photobombed numerous times. My favourite is this guy wearing 'Let it snow' over his salopettes - what a great look!!

A BIG thank you to Ally, Connie, Anti and Beth for making our 18th Birthday so memorable - I think the sports-bras should become an annual thing!! X
